Passenger information & safety

Useful information about child seats, airport pickups, waiting time, accessibility, payments and lost property.

Child seats available by pre-booking

We strongly encourage families to use an appropriate child car seat. The Department for Transport says the safest way for children to travel by car is in an appropriate car seat. Although taxi and private-hire rules allow limited exceptions when the correct child seat is not available, an exemption does not make travelling unrestrained the safer option.

When available, we can provide suitable child seats if they are requested in advance. Please tell us the child's age, height and approximate weight so we can arrange the most suitable restraint. Availability must be confirmed as part of the booking.

Why it matters: Department for Transport road-casualty statistics show that 25% of car-occupant fatalities in Great Britain in 2024 were not wearing a seat belt. The government's THINK! road-safety campaign also states that, in a crash, a person is twice as likely to die if they are not wearing a seat belt. These figures cover car occupants generally rather than child-seat use specifically, but they underline why correct restraint matters.

Airport pickups and flight monitoring

Provide the correct flight number when booking so we can monitor the arrival where supported. Airport pickup instructions can vary by terminal and airport; follow the details in your confirmation and keep your phone available after landing.

Waiting time

We normally allow up to 60 minutes from recorded landing time for airport pickups where valid flight details have been supplied, and 15 minutes for non-airport pickups. Additional waiting may be charged at £20 per hour pro rata.

Wheelchair and mobility assistance

Wheelchair accessible vehicles and lower-entry car options can be arranged subject to availability. Tell us about wheelchair size and weight, powered wheelchair requirements and any assistance needed before travel so the correct vehicle can be allocated.

Seat belts

Passengers must use a seat belt wherever one is provided unless a lawful exemption applies. Children should use the correct child restraint wherever possible and required.

Payments

Depending on the booking, payment may be made securely by card, account, bank transfer or to the driver. Never send full card details by ordinary email or during a recorded call.

Lost property

If you think you have left something in a vehicle, contact us as soon as possible with your booking reference, journey date and a description of the item. We will contact the relevant operator or driver. We cannot guarantee recovery, and reasonable delivery or postage costs may apply if an item is found and needs returning.
